Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My passenger side seat back won't release unless both head rest buttons are raised. Any ideas how to adjust the catches? TB

POST 2Original post

As far as I know (Perhaps Richard H can confirm) these are a standard length cable and not adjustable. So, try teflon spray / White grease on the hooks on the base (the hooks that move when you lift the levers) No joy then I assume the cable has stretched. A fix for this is to cut the cable and reconnect them via one of those electric terminal blocks (usually used to connect to wires together by pushing one in each end and screwing down the brass screws) shortening cable by a mm or so.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

cheers for that Lloyd, see you're selling your centre cap badges, shame cos we could have done a straight swop. will poke around the seats later and seewhat going on TB

POST 4Original post

Not sure this would work on a Porker, but some years back I had a VW Polo with the same issue. Noticed it wasn't pulling catch fully due to cable stretch. Simply unclipped one end (at base), tied a knot in cable and re-attached. Slack eradicated and release operational.
