Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

saw a thread about this over on PH, not a conclusive answer (nothing new there then...) But, learned 996 fellow's , is it just a tweak to the system on a 03 car? Mine doesn't do it but I wish it would! the only way it works is by putting the key in the door and holding it twisted over.

POST 2Original post

My 04 C4S was built in 03 and the windows don't close from the keyfob. I'd be interested to learn what the tweak is? cheers Ray :thumb:

POST 4Original post

My 00 TT closes windows and roof if I hold the remote button while locking. It also opens the windows if I hold it while unlocking. I wonder if your car has been coded properly. I've known a few cases where the car has slipped into transit (energy saving) mode, so I guess it is possible for other settings to be lost. I did once find a car with a sunroof, but the control unit was coded without. If you are in my area I'd be happy to connect the Porsche Tester and check it out for you.

POST 5Original post

Great Thanks Richard. My bonnet doesn't pop up either from the fob. Do you have a garage? I'm often down the M4. cheers Ray :thumb:

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hold the button on mine and nowt happens, just flashes. Iff you put the key in and lock manually it closes everything up... thanks RH, I'll be up that way in the next few weeks some time, will e mail you in advance.

POST 7Original post

Looks like we'll have to join a long Queue :frustrated:

POST 8Original post

Only one I keep the car in overnight! Just an enthusiastic amateur. Do you have another remote key you could try?

POST 9Original post

Yes Richard, got two, I'll try the other one cheers Ray :thumb:

POST 10Original post

Holding my door unlock button on the fob (when car is locked) the windows and roof open. The opposite also happens. I believe this is set in the ECU (as previously posted), so can be enabled again. This behaviour is standard on UK cars.

POST 11Original post

Are you sure the ROOF opens? The roof normally closes when locking, but doesn't open when unlocking.

POST 12Original post

if i keep the button held down whilst unlocking the windows also drop. When i press and hold it to lock they go up again. I thought they all did that :?

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

well this one doesn't......... it will tho'

POST 15Original post

Mine doesn't either. I went to a specialist with Piwis who told me that it couldn't be done. Paid him £40 to do this and the locking when driving away, and he was only able to do the latter. I hope that it can be done, as I would love that facility.
