Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all, I bought a 2004 996 Targa 2 days ago and love it.
Yesterday I opened the sunshade and a tiny piece of plastic that guides it along the rail snapped off.
It's rendered the entire Sunshade useless.
I've scoured these forums to find the part number.
I've also looked online and cant identify it.
The closest I've found is this diagram of a 993.
The part I need is #25 or #24
Can you help me identify the part number and it's official name?
Thank you so much
Den
Part #25
Thank you Chris.
Page 530 kind of confirms my fear.
Part 18 just points to the shade as a whole unit.
Doesn't seem to be a part # for the tiny plastic guides that sit on the left and right of it.
They pull out like little plugs.
Am I missing something here do you think?
Cheers

This is getting ridiculous.
This all points to the fact that just because 1 tiny plastic part is broken... I have to spend USD 500 on an entire new shade?
Does this not sound utterly crazy to anyone except me ?
Honestly I thought of printing too.
I'd need a 3D copy of an existing part. Mine is snapped so cant use it.
Its actually a really badly made piece of plastic.
That repair kit is strange... cant find any site that will tell me whats in it.
I can tell you that it costs nearly USD 500 though.
