Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Run scan' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check ignition coils' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

My car started running on 5 pots at one point but there was no smoke.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Washed the car two days ago. Go it in to start it today and the engine is shaking and really having a hard time idling. Died a few times on me. Started it back up and gave it a little gas and its idling better but seeing light grey smoke from the exhausts. Im actually supposed to see my Indy tomorrow anyway but the question is can I drive like this to him?
only you can answer your question. If I were troubleshooting this, I'd fire up my scanner and see what codes might be showing up. If I were swagging this problem, I'd look for a loose connection on one or more of my ignition coils. (Perhaps you tried to wash underneath the car and loosen a poorly seated connector on an ignition coil?)
Cracked coil perhaps? I second the suggestion of using a code reader. Is the engine light on?
My car started running on 5 pots at one point but there was no smoke. I'd personally avoid driving it like this for more than a short distance.
Definitely run a scan. The Misfire codes will be in the 300s... ie. PO301, 302, 303, etc.
IMHO, a wet car then misfires definitely points to bad coil packs.
1319 is a misfire in general and 1316 is a misfire in Cylinder 4. Looking into the engine bay, Cylinder 4 is the one closest to you on the passenger side. If you are handy, you could buy a new coil and swap it in and see if that stops it (probably will). I'm not sure about driving it 9 miles to the shop, but I had the same issue and drove it 3 miles without an issue.
I haven't done it myself, but in the 101 Project book, it says you don't need to remove the rear wheel, but it will be easier if you do. You do not need to remove the mufflers.
