Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Buying my first 911. Found one on PCA and seller agreed to a deal, then took another offer that didnt request PPI. Super bummed, but the fun of the search continues. Please feel free to share any potential listings you see! - Manual Transmission (Required) - 4S Preferred, favorite look - $47k and under - Nation Wide (USA) and wouldnt mind road tripping it back to Tennessee! Thanks!

Take your time. The number of 996 cars produced in North America was quite large, so lots of fish out there. Keep in mind that any 20+ year old car will almost certainly need work and the costs for repairs are high, so keep a slush fund for the unexpected. Lastly, and most important, join PCA. You can do this without a car for a year and you can get to know your local club. People there will be glad to help with your search! Good luck with the search.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Marv, great advice! Joined PCA yesterday (might make a post there as well) and I agreed on the extra fund for maintenance haha.

POST 4Original post

You should make a listing here and there. Lots of folks dont think about selling til someone ask.

Thanks for sending, actually texted that seller for more info. If you see a sliver/black 996 4S let me know! I like the blue but not sure how I feel about the metropol blue interrior.

POST 8Original post

Where in TN are you? I am near Chattanooga and have a 2002 996 C2 coupe , Arctic Silver with Graphite Gray interior. It has a FSI 3.8 Stage I engine with 15K miles on the engine. 6MT but not a 4S. Let me know if you are interested.

the interior is dark and is very similar to black honestly. Lapis blue is really nice since its not a common color also. I am local if you need me to check it out. There is a shop down by him called vision motorsports that can do the PPI for you.

That would be huge, like I may have mentioned...would look to roadtrip back to TN so tough to determine condition remotely haha! I'll send you a PM.

I did a nationwide search on the Porsche website and got quite a few 4S Cabs but the only coupe is the one you already saw at the dealer in LA. The Porsche USA website isn't well maintained, in that the listing here can sit a lot longer than it does at the actual dealer with the listing, so you have to always ask if they still have the car. I can tell you from my experience of owning a Cab, if you put on the hardtop, it is just like a coupe (only a little heavier to account for the hydraulics for the top and the top itself). It's very much like having two cars. The only downside is the cost to repair the mechanics of the convertible top itself. Here is my search string: Porsche 911 for sale | Porsche Finder US
