Rather than just pull the round lugs, you may find it useful to help push the lugs out with a bluntish instrument aswell (I used a Philip's screwdriver)

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there I have bought clear lenses, and now need to remove the clear lenses without breaking them, they look like they break easily? I have bought inserts for my washer jet system, now need to remove solid ones and fit these Is there a knacK? cheers Edward

POST 2Original post

Geuss you are talking about the corner infills. Take the lights out ease the infills off slowly with a bit of wd 40 sprayed down the back or silicone spray. They just clip on and off. Try all this and chances are the lugs will still break off anyway! :wtf:

POST 3Original post

Lloyd 6 light conversion Yup, these are a barsteward, also try warming up as much as you can with a 1600 - 2000w hairdryer before levering apart. The plastic used is so brittle, chances of not breaking at least one lug off is slim... but I did it... YEY!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

cheers guys! sounds a nightmare job! not great engineering!!

POST 5Original post

I swapped my corner infills from my old halogens to litronic units. I was wary of fatigue in the plastic (8 years old) so I assumed the plastic was at least partially thermoplastic and gently waved a hair dryer over the three or so clips per infill to make them more flexible. I then gently pushed the two round lugs out (along long length of infill to lamp side) and then carefully slid the tab out of the the side clip along shorter side. Rather than just pull the round lugs, you may find it useful to help push the lugs out with a bluntish instrument aswell (I used a Philip's screwdriver) Just keep a gentle and consistent pressure once the round lugs have popped.
