Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suspected cause

I don't have a Spyder, so I wasn't following it super closely, but there was a thread on another forum that showed pictures of something that looked similar to that; I think it was the end cap for one of the top bows or something along those lines.

Leading evidence: 'end cap' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'end cap' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

This was found on the very first cover for the engine in the trunk. It is not something that goes on the lid. Anyone? It's always something strange that I find in Boris.

POST 2Original post

See if there's a part number on the very bottom in super-fine print, as that will quickly point out what it is and where it goes (on the fiche).

POST 3Original post

Not a number on it to be found, whatever it fits upon is a unique shape; I'm using that as a search for clue.

POST 5Original post

I don't have a Spyder, so I wasn't following it super closely, but there was a thread on another forum that showed pictures of something that looked similar to that; I think it was the end cap for one of the top bows or something along those lines.

POST 6Original post

My thoughts exactly. It sure looks like an end-cap -- vaguely similar to the one on the standard 987 to plug the holes where the optional hard top slots into. So if there's any analog to that per the Spyder, that would be my guess as well. I don't expect the Spyder to accept a hard top (different style, etc.). Meanwhile, yours is a funny shape and the 987 ones are round plugs, @Boristhespyder . Let us know how you get on.

POST 7Original post

I don't have time right now to go searching for it (and I wouldn't link to it here anyway, since it's on The Porsche Forum That Shall Not Be Named), but thinking about it some more, it might be a cap for the top corner of the windshield header. Something in the area of the top, anyway. Somebody over there might have been 3D printing spares or something.

POST 8Original post

Still not located. Since it was where my folded top sits I'm inclined to think it's integral to the top but I've yet to locate any visual voids. I put it away, I'll keep looking, next time the top is up.

POST 9Original post

Is it this? \ I don't have a spyder but I have seen lots of discussions about this part because it can't be bought separately from the roof.
