What tyre pressures would you recommend, I've dropped the rears to 40 psi than the standard 44 psi on the 18s.

I bought them off a chap who had them on his 996 turbo for a year without any problems, but when I got them he was running pressures much lower.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Evening guys I've just put a new set of 19 inch wheels and tyres on my 996 turbo. Plan to keep them on until the summer until the original turbos can be refurbished. Size wise they are 295/30 rear and 235/35 front. What tyre pressures would you recommend, I've dropped the rears to 40 psi than the standard 44 psi on the 18s. I bought them off a chap who had them on his 996 turbo for a year without any problems, but when I got them he was running pressures much lower. Sorry if the question has been asked before, but couldn't find it anywhere. Simon

POST 2Original post

You could start with the below pressures and see how you go. Hard to judge in these temps but it's a starting point for you. Seeing as my car came with 19's as standard and they're not too dissimilar in form factor, it's somewhere to start 997.2 C2S - 34psi front / 40psi rear HTH :thumb:

POST 3Original post

Agree with FZP regarding standard tyre pressures on 997.2 C2S. 34 psi front, 40 psi rear. I've attached a couple of screenshots of part of a 997.2 manual I got off the internet which confirms these numbers. For conversion, 1 bar = 14.5038 psi I find 40 psi at the rear a bit hard on my local roads and normally run pressures 34 psi front, 38 psi rear.

POST 4Original post

Stunning car mate. Lovely 👌 What make are the rims?
