Bought on EBay and fitted this morning, much nicer and even got the setting bridge tool so adjusted the cables.

The gear change on my 996.2 was a bit sloppy and notchy so reading through the threads about replacing the shifter with the quick shift mechanism I decided to go the 997 route.
