Problem was caused by left and right seal/grommet as on picture, both drain "canals" loaded with sand and rubbish so water was standing for long time, I took these off and I can't figure out why these are there installed as car didn't looks any better in fact car looks great without it :dont know:

So lesson learned, rear windscreen drains must be cleaned every time you wash your car to avoid dirt build up on these seals/grommets and this advise is for 996 and I believe 997 owners.

drains was in first place cheeked all fine you can actually see one in picture looks new perhaps someone before me was dealing with this leak, front grommets clean, my case is 1of1 rear screen glue is responsible for it, perhaps years did the job or it was from beginning not done properly I don't know, I'm not sure if I apply new glue will work but already have been told by professional it will not work cos it is not as simple.

Interesting is to say after good clean with high pressure water I did test pouring water and not a drip of water inside, so now just need to redone windscreen and keep clean all water drains.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have made short video how bad it is now I have to deal with it and it is look like I will be cutting rear screen out but I have to investigate a bit more.
If you guys have any suggestions.........

If use use the Search Forum function (top right of screen) and key the words
....... wet AND carpets ........ you'll get a long list of similar threads.

Thanks T8,

In my case problem was that damp wasn't a big of an issue as my car was garaged and recently I have start driving it every day and we have some heavy rains for a week so carpet get so wet I was able to squeeze water from it and moisture was just on another level, on one frosty day I was scraping front and side screen from the inside :eh!:
I know how water get to the corner of the rear screen but I think it should be some drains on back between screen and rear lid I have to check it.
Great post Szymon. The more people do write-ups and add photos the better. Regardless of whether its been done before.
Water = Bain of my life! :nooo:
That looks like condensation where its settling on the cold metal/glass parts of the car. That unforunately means the leak could be anywhere :nooo:
Or thinking like it's common for the underside of the frunk to get condensation could it be a poor seal :?:
That's a pretty bad water leak there ..
The video shows its coming under the rear screen seal .. i would just say ..
Confirm its not running down and then exiting in that corner ..
Other than that its a windscreen firm in to cut out and reseal the rear screen .
Not something i've seen before and i've done one or two water leaks over the years .
Thanks for sharing as i will be looking out for this from now on .
more then happy deMort to share information especially if it is something what has not been pointed out before,
small update:
windscreen have to come out ring few places and nobody like to do it as they are busy with windscreen replacements under
insurance
:frustrated: so it is look like I'm going to learn another skill
I have also find reason why water wasn't flowing properly in first place also makes me thinking how it affected glue (rust to the chassis?) and perhaps this is reason why glue come out of windscreen/chassis.
