Unfortunately Porsche decided design one of the most convoluted stereo systems so also some of the stock speakers are 2 Ohm so they also need replacing too if you get another amp.

Is there anyone West Midlands based that has used a car audio company they can recommend to upgrade the stock cdr23 with something more modern that would give me bluetooth function to play music.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all
I know the cdr23 topic has been covered numerous times as I've read back through all the other threads but couldn't see a definitive answer to my question.
Is there anyone West Midlands based that has used a car audio company they can recommend to upgrade the stock cdr23 with something more modern that would give me bluetooth function to play music.
I dont want to go down the double din route and want to stick with something single din.
I had a guy from a local company come out and take a look and as soon as he saw that it was a MOST system basically walked away and said it's too much hassle.
I'm not confident enough to attempt it myself and would rather leave it to someone more qualified and that has experience of this type of car and upgrade given the MOST complication.
If anyone has any recommendations of someone they have used in the West Midlands or someone that works mobile it would be appreciated
Cheers
Shaun
Just a heads up on this endeavour your sound quality will be limited with use of a cheap MOST converter such as the eBay ones for around £120 that offer just two RCA inputs.
To get the full range working like the factory CDR23, PCM2.0 or the new PCCM from Porsche you will need something akin to a Mobridge DA series digital preamp which has you for the cheapest one £500 and a can bus decoder to get switch on and off with the ignition ect which costs around £100.
So just be aware for decent sound from your new system you are looking at £600 in parts to get it working before you select your radio.
That's the method most go for if they are intent on going for an aftermarket stereo. Unfortunately Porsche decided design one of the most convoluted stereo systems so also some of the stock speakers are 2 Ohm so they also need replacing too if you get another amp.
I know you said single DIN but my personal recommendation would get a PCCM+ if you want modern functionality, the other options will cost you just as much if not more on a MOST fitted car, it's not single DIN but it's modern, Porsche OEM and designed for the car with all the MOST connectivity ect built in and will make the car more desirable. Where an aftermarket solution will only ever hurt value.
