This is not a probability of success.

I'm missing the RHS cap (705 and 605 relate to the LHS cap) and was rather disappointed with the price change for the superseded part no.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Could anyone explain why the cap that fits on the end of the "centring journal" on the cabriolet hood should have jumped from £0.39 (996 561 706 01) to £23.34 (996 561 606 02)? I'm missing the RHS cap (705 and 605 relate to the LHS cap) and was rather disappointed with the price change for the superseded part no.

POST 2Original post

In my parts list 996.561.606.01 was £14.21 (706.01 doesn't exist), so not quite as huge an increase. If I were you, I would give up on trying to figure out Porsche parts prices. Consider the front bumper number plate mounting. Probably 4 times the size of that part, made from the same material, but £5.80.

POST 3Original post

There's food for thought Matthew, any good with a dremel[ ]

POST 4Original post

I remembered the attached TSB which explains why the change was made, and forwarded it to Matthew. I thought it would be worth adding here in case someone finds this thread in the future.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
