Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

And they both look better than the Freelander with running mascara
Leading evidence: 'Run mascara' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run mascara' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Why after all this time are people, including so called car reviewers/experts referring to the Gen2/Turbo headlights as fried egg???
Teardrop perhaps but fried egg........are people becoming more stupid as the years tick by.
Sausage trouser & eggs :floor:
Because that's what they look like. The lights and the interior on the 996 were the 2 critical points of the car. It's taken decades for people to accept the design and its now becoming a classic, mainly due to these quirky features.
I started off by disliking the lights and interior but over time I've warmed to the 996. I own a 997 and if you asked me 5 years ago about buying a 996 I would have said no, 'I don't like the fried eggs". 5 years on if you asked me the same question, I would say YES! I now like the 996 and I would have one. It's a great car.
Unfortunately they will always be called fried eggs. Does boiled egg sound better?
I have done some research and found this picture of a broken 996 head light, it may explain the name. :floor:
OMG, possibly one of the worst songs and videos I've ever seen. What a pile of rubbish.
However I was strangely fixated and still watched it
A bit like the 996 headlights, didn't like them but strangely fixated on the eggs.
I once heard the Mk2 headlight referred to as "surrender headlights". I quite liked that as they were the product of pressure to make the 911 different from the Boxster and move towards the round headlights.
Have some of you actually read my post??
Fried egg was because of the yellow indicator. That wasn't the point of my post.
Good grief people are getting more stupid by the hour.
