Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

Suggestion

I would suggest getting a diagnostic check done on the roof, as there are all sorts of things it might be.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi i am michael 30 years old and just bought a 2001 porsche 911 got a few problems the roof seems to unlock and the windows go down but the roof dose not retract and it locks back up? also all the stereo works but no sound? this is all after putting a new battery on any help would be great thanks michael

POST 2Original post

Michael!! I would suggest getting a diagnostic check done on the roof, as there are all sorts of things it might be. Low on hydraulic fluid, dodgy microswitches, pump or cylinders, etc. It should show what is wrong, and where to look.. As for the radio, I assume it is a CDR22. Do you have the M490 amplifier option? (Look for 490 on the sticker under the bonnet or in the maintenance booklet). It might be that the amplifier is faulty, or blown a fuse (fuse D9) or the lead from head unit to amplifier may be damaged or disconnected.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks fir the reply I will check the model of the stereo tomorrow. Do you no where you top up the hydraulic fluid for the roof? Thanks Michael

POST 4Original post

The pump and tank are behind the rear seats. You need a special hydraulic fluid though. If you drop me an email I'll dig out the procedure and fluid spec from the workshop manual for you.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
