Suspected cause
I know the Z4M is probably a much better car than the Z3M, but the Z3M had more 'character'...
Leading evidence: 'much better car than the z3m' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'much better car than the z3m' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). Suggestion
Prospective Cayman owners with November 2005 builds should set a time to meet in front of the convention center for a photo opportunity.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I would go to the Detroit Auto Show just to see the Cayman. There is much to be said about seeing a vehicle in person. Sometimes you can miss things in photos that you will notice in person.
There are very few advantages to living in Michigan. Right now being able to go to the Detroit Auto Show and see the Cayman is one of them. However, I have already confirmed my dealer in West Palm Beach will have a Cayman in November. I will be there at Christmas time and will be seeing it then. I will still go to the Detroit Auto Show because it really is great.
In Australia this month we have the Sydney Motor Show. I live in Melbourne (about 1:20 from Sydney by flight) and was going to fly to Sydney to see the Cayman S until I found out that it wasn't there. So yes, if I was in the US I would definitely go to Detroit to see one. Also, rumours has it that Detroit is where the base Cayman will be released.
Here's another reason to go to the Detroit Motor Show: to check out the newly unveiled competition from BMW - the Z4 M, of course this is the roadster, but the engine is almost definitely going to be fitted to the coupé when it comes out.

If the Cayman S will NOT be at the LA Auto Show, then you can bet I'll be flying to Detroit to see it!!!! Besides our best neighbors are moving to Lansing as we speak, good excuse to fly back and visit with them as well.
I would think so, leaving CA and buy 2 homes in Mich. one on a lake and one outside of Lansing.....I'll let em know I will have a few(?) friends staying with me....
I heard that after the Detroit Auto Show the Dealers were free to release all the Cayman orders to the owners/Buyers. Detroit being the US debut of the car the dealers have to wait until the show is over to release the hounds so to speak. What are the Dates for the Detroit Auto show?

That sounds very good to me as I have a Nov. build order. It would be especially nice to get it after the doors open rather than have to wait the extra 10 days until the show ends. BTW, does anyone know if there will be a 'Special' display of the Cayman like they had in Frankfurt either at Detroit or LA??
Detroit? Possibly.
LA? I don't think so.
The Porsche exhibit space at LA would not be big enough for the turntable Porsche had at Frankfurt. By the time the doors open to the public at LA or Detroityou should be driving a Cayman instead of looking at one. But driving to the LA show should put a grin on your face.
Prospective Cayman owners with November 2005 builds should set a time to meet in front of the convention center for a photo opportunity. The first Cayman meet in North America. What do you think?
Sort of like this?
Except that instead of Siena, you have the LA Convention Center!
I am DEFINITELY up for that!!! Usually make it every other year or so but will be there this year for sure. It would be great to have the first gathering at a date such as the LA Autoshow. That would have as big a draw as the show inside.
Okay. The timing will be critical, with delivery schedules and the LA Show dates. Does anyone have a tentative day that they would like to do this?

I SAW OUR BEAUTY IN FRANKFURT. I'LL DRIVE THE CAYMAN FOR THE FIRST IN MY LIFE AT THE END OF NOVEMBER. MY CAR WILL BE DELIVERED AT THE END OF FEBRUARY INSTEAD OF JANUARY AS THEY PROMISSED. THE REASON FOR THE DELAY IS THE FACT I'VE CHOOSEN THE CARRERA S WHEELS AND THEY AREN'T AVAILABLE BEFORE FEBRUARY
I'll be on the west coast in early January, so depending on when the show dates are I might be able to meet people at the LA show, not sure if I can make Detroit or not. Would like to.
I would be available for any day. Sometimes I take a day or two off from work and go during the week. However, I believe that traffic would be easier to negotiate during the weekend. I hate the memories I have of the weekday traffic in that part of LA!!!!
An early Sunday morning drive to downtown LA in a new Cayman S would be the best time/day of the week. No point sticking this mid engine sweet heart in rush hour traffic. Alternatively, could take a drive in the Santa Monicas or up Palomar mountain, weather permitting -- keeping the RPMs down below 4000 might be difficult though.
