I've ordered a set of 4 Bilstein B4's from Design911 (great price)for my suspension refresh, looking at a YouTube video of replacing the rear control arms, the guy said that there are 2 lengths of the rear toe link bolts, is this correct?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I've had the 996.2 C2 for a week and started today on my list of updates as it was a lovely sunny day. Fitted the low temperature thermostat and had my first really good look around the suspension, I've ordered coffin arms, tuning forks, everything really including track rod arms. When she was up in the air I noticed that the rear near side damper was leaking oil so another thing to add to the list (Alex said they would probably be knackered). I will probably keep it fairly standard as my track days are over so she will be a road car only, so Bilstein's B4? If anybody knows a good deal on at the moment I would appreciate a pointer. thanks.

POST 2Original post

Careful, it can be a slippery slope once you start. At least you had it a week before you started. MC

POST 3Original post

I rate bilsteins, i have them on mine! Coilovers are an option if you want to set the ride height? I have H&R springs aswell. Good luck

POST 4Original post

Demon Tweaks appear to have an offer on B4, B6 and B8 and may be worth a look. ( link is for C4) I haven't compare prices else where yet, but DT supplied the shocks for my E36 M3 and E30 325i and were the most competitive at the time. https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/performance/suspension/shock-absorbers/ Regards Dave

POST 5Original post

Don't do just on axle with the shocks or it'll make things horrendous and unsafe. I did my fronts at first and not rears. Under hard braking the back end would snake all over the road. The car also floated around all over the road when giving it some. Pretty scary stuff.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nope, plan is to do all 4 dampers, top mounts, bearings and bump stops.
