Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

This questions is probably best for those who have seen the 'Interior Design Pkg-Exterior' in person. Once you apply this option I don't think the Seat Back look right. I think you either need to paint them in exterior color or replace them with leather seat backs. Both are expensive options. I am mostly thinking that when looking at the car from the back the silvery seats backs will look out of place. I am interested in any comments here. It's very hard to tell from the configurator. Keith

POST 2Original post

who cares about what the seat back look like, they're covered by the engine. spend that money on something that you can see.

POST 3Original post

I have to agree with Confused, first spend money on the obvious and then anything else you have to have. I blew most of my budget on the paint & wheels, which is what 90% of the people will see. It has been said that this car just left alone with NO OPTIONS is still wonderful. Aloha Russ

POST 4Original post

I agree with RussK & confused, you would be better using money on what you can see. Or for engine upgrades after you get the car.

POST 5Original post

I'll jump to the other side. I think the Interior Design Pkg. looks great, but as you state having the seat backs done in exterior color would make it much better.........that is if you order one of the sport seats. If you go with the 'normal' seats you won't have to worry about it as you can't see the small painted backing on them. I ordered a few interior pieces painted exterior color because it really sets the interior off.......and with alltheoptions avialable you can end up an interior that is like none other........something you can't do with an exterior color choice. Cobalt Blue, Slate Grey, or Dark Olive will be rare exterior colors.......but you will always be able to find another Cayman with that color if you look hard enough. I look at the car as a whole package.......not just the exterior or interior......but both combined. As always, get what YOU like.

POST 6Original post

Yes - you are confused all confused. Don't worry I've put plenty aside for 'performance options. I am also very interested in how it looks. Again. I have a very specific question. If you apply the Interior Design Package, the silvery paint in the rear of cabinis replaced with experior paint color, however, the backs of the seats are still silvery painted. I think that viewing from the rear this will look out of place and hence either leather or paint would look better. I would like someone who has either been at the car shows or car test drives who have seen this option to comment on my thoughts. The two cars coming into my local dealer do not have this paint option so for now I need to rely on reports from people who have seen these cars elsewhere. These are the people I want to hear from. Keith

POST 7Original post

Keith - Not many people have seen the IDP in person. As I said before if you get regular seats the sides of them and vast majority of the seat backsare covered in either leather or leatherette........so you won't see that much silver paint (if any) when looking at the car from the outside or inside. If you get sport seats it is a different story.......both the sides and full backs are painted silver. Take a look at these pictures......the Cobalt blue car has sport seats......so you see a lot of silver backing. The red car has regular seats so you won't see as much, if any, silver painted backing. Although I haven't seen the IDP in person......I'd be willing to bet thatthe sport seat backs covered in leather or painted would make it look even better if you got the IDP. Then again you might be worried about the seat bases being painted silver, the bar that runs in back of the seats, etc. <input type="image" height="330" width="495" src="/UserFiles/cobalt1(1).jpg" /> <input type="image" height="603" width="800" src="/UserFiles/red3(1).jpg" />

If I spend the money for the Porsche luggage will it come with the same valet? /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/wink_smile.gif

POST 11Original post

Thanks Atlas_Croc The blue one is the one I was looking for. The seat backs actually look ok with the grey carpet, but I would either be picking black or beige so still not sure... Wanting the car is easy. The only problem I'm having is color(s)! Thanks Keith
