Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is all in addition to sport chrono plus (a must have on any new porsche used for everyday driving with the occasional track day in mind IMO), PASM, Bi-Xenon headlamps, PCM 2.1.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It got back its wide hips, had different lights (still not the same round ones I prefered), and had a more aggressive front spoiler.
But sadly enough... there was no Cayman S. They did, however, have free posters of the cayman S as giveaways as well as a new 2006 model booklet with the Cayman S in it. Cars present: Carrera S, Carrera, Cayenne, Boxster, Boxster S, Carrera GT.
The poster being given away is one of a cayman from top view and says 'Never stop making waves'
Unbelievable that they put Caymans in the showroom of the dealers, but they aren't able to show the car on a Auto Show. That must have been frustrating Chuck/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/confused_smile.gif
KmanS and RussK,
I would have definitely grabbed a poster for each of you. Unfortunately, the pretty porsche rep only gave me one. Sorry guys. If I make another trip out there, I'll be sure to try to grab extras!
I really wanted to see the cayman there. I guess I'll go to the Rector dealership sometime this week to check out the new car in the flesh.
So the posters areon ebay for 10 bucks, eh? Just kidding.
Ramiel, Thanks for the compliment! The 997S has been a dream to drive everyday and it exceeded all my expectations when I finally got to drive it. I'm sure I'll feel the same way about the Cayman when I finally get to drive it! I should really stop buying Porsche's and just open a dealership w/ some of you guys here! That way, we get to pick and choose and drive!
Chuck, I hope that in a few years I also have a black 997 in my garage, but until that day I will have lots of fun in my Basalt Black Cay. The Cayman realy looks great when you see him in the flesh. Did you order a white one? What options do you have on your 997? In the showroom of my dealer I saw a white 997 and it also looks great/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/dance.gif
My 997 is a comfortably optioned 911 Carrera S. It has many performance options as standard, so I chose other options to make the ride more enjoyable: Leather interior, porsche crest in headrests, seat warmers, Tire pressure monitoring, navigation, seat package. This is all in addition to sport chrono plus (a must have on any new porsche used for everyday driving with the occasional track day in mind IMO), PASM, Bi-Xenon headlamps, PCM 2.1.
I baby the 911 too much... its the car I've always wanted since I was younger (back when it was a 993). I haven't ordered a Cayman yet... I still want to see what it looks like in person. I'm also planning to be patient and wait for Porsche to upgrade the whole line-up. I see the Cayman going through many upgrades; kind of like what happenned to the boxster: increased displacement, more horsepower, better interior and exterior features, maybe limited slip differential. This may mean a couple of things for the Cayman: nicely priced resales for 2006 models, and even better priced sales for 2007 Cayman (non-S) models.
If I were to order a Cayman, it would be white and stripped: No navigation, no seat warmers. No PASM, and instead it would have Limited slip differential (if available). It would be a pure driving car for the driver only and no electronics. I'd buy it bare bones so that I could beat it up on the track! If the Cayman RS or Cayman ClubSportever becomes a reality, I'd be next in line to get it!
For me the 911 also has been the car I wanted the most since I was 18. But until today he is a little bit to expensive for me. I can only driveit for fun in the weekend, so the Cayman is the perfect alternative.(ideal price/quality level). Thanks for your reaction

<div>Ramiel,</div>
<div>As the price of 911's rose above 70K they went beyond my budget and I just figured I would never own another Porsche in this lifetime, then along came the Cayman! I had to stretch my thinking a bit to convince myself that I deserve this, when at my age we should be thinking all about retirement. It took me about 3 days to convince myself, and then the wife. But just between us I had already put down my deposit before I even told her!</div>
<div>My first Porsche was a 911T and I think it was about $8,900 in 1969 or 70. I am cannot wait for my prize to arrive!</div>
<div>Aloha Russ</div>

RussK, the anticipation of your new ride must be killing you! Heck, I want yours to arrive so I can hear all about it. I'm excited for you! Love the story about your deposit without clearing it w/ the wife first. HA!
Ramiel, the 911 was out of my price range a few years ago (hence the reason I bought the boxster S). Times have changed for me: Better job, better investments, smarter money management.
The 911 has changed for the better as well: I never really liked the 996 (it looked like a boxster, not that I don't like boxsters.. I love them. I just don't think a 911 should look like one). The price difference really was not justified in my eyes: The boxster S was the better buy plus it handled so awesomely. The 911 GT2 (996) caught my eye because it was very different from the boxster. It got back its wide hips, had different lights (still not the same round ones I prefered), and had a more aggressive front spoiler. This was really really past my price range as well.
The Cayman S presents a good compromise: exotic styling, excellent handling, mid-engine layout, descent price. This website is proof that a new crop of Cayman enthusiasts are around; kind of how I was a 911 dreamer once before! I think the cayman was successful in its goal: revitalize the porsche family with interest and new enthusiasts.
Chuck,
Yes the anticipation is hard for everyone who has one on order. I did just get a call from my dealer and he said that we will have the floor model here by about the 27th. I think seeing it in person will only add to the excitement unfortunately. I hope feeling this way is good for me!! If not I sure hope Idon't die from all the fun I am having. I just look at this as a wonderful Christmas present to myself!
Aloha Russ
