Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Going for a drive tomorrow in a ferrari on the silverstone track. However, still remaining loyal to porsche as i will be wearing my porsche shorts and tee shirt. Lets hope the weathers fine. I think i will be trying out the 430 but certainly wouldnt accept anything less than a 360.

POST 2Original post

Have fun Ferrari's have never really done it for me, every time I've been on a track it's been a 997 GT3 or tuned up turbo from a choice of many cars. Still should be a good time, and the weather should be fine

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

well, experience over. 80 miles to get there, followed with a 40 minute safety talk, then three laps which took about 10 minutes max. Drove a 360 which didnt seem to have the acceleration i was expecting. Hasnt encouraged me to go buy one. Would i go again in a ferrari......no. Maybe a gt3rs????

POST 4Original post

For what it's worth I drove a 355 last week fro a specialist dealer. For soundtrack, stunning looks and a brilliant drive it takes some beating. I'm hooked!!

POST 5Original post

Mate just bought a 355 to add to his stable. Going for a drive on tuesday and looking forward to it now.[ ]

POST 6Original post

Not suprised, stunningly awesome cars and at current prices low depreciation that helps with the running costs. I can't decide between spider or coupe at mo

POST 7Original post

My 360 Spider was not a match for the mid range acceleration of my 997 PDK eventhough the Porsche has about 25 less bhp. However, my F430 Spider is in a different league, but so it should with nigh on 500 bhp! Even a 997 Gen 2 Turbo does not do it for me anymore. The sound of the F430 is enough! [ ]

POST 8Original post

Go for the Spider every time, not just for the image, but also the sound. Get a manual too, they are becoming quite rare as many are being exported. F1s eat clutches and the gear change is not a patch on Porsche PDK.

POST 9Original post

Tks Derek I wanted the opinion of a fellow 911 owner. I had also thought red/crema and Manual was the was to go. I had Also thought u might benefit from the sound further with the roof down as I've only driven the coupe. 355 is a very beautifull car

POST 10Original post

Yup, a 355 is great car and appreciating in value. Moreover, I made money on my 360 Spider, else I would not have sold it, prefering the sound and looks to the 430 Spider. However, a 430 is cheaper to run and more modern and more economical (despite having a 100 bhp advantage). In short all Ferraris are making money at present as long as the condition, FFSH and miliage is good. BUT......... That is not to say that a Ferrari is better than a Porsche [ ] They are totally different motor cars. One simply cannot/should not drive a Ferrari every day! Moreover, best to keep to the bus routes if you do... then you can get the bus home [ ] Only joking! Bottom line, IMHO a Porsche is like the faithful Laura Ashley wife, dependable, attractive, good at most things & faithful. The Ferrari is the Italian Mistress, passionate, difficult to handle, beautiful to look and good at only one thing..

POST 11Original post

Expertly put Derek. I've not managed the art of making money on cars yet thou haha. If I can pick up a 355 for a mid mkt price i'm happy knowing I won't lose too much

POST 12Original post

Yup, some say the 355 is the best of the those three. Just watch running costs and FFSH. Personally, the better looking one and the best sounding is the 360. Sorry Porsche mates, you are the sensible chaps [ ] Interestingly though, I have always lost considerably more in Porsche depreciation than I have spent on Ferrari servicing, but must conceed that would not be the case if I stopped buying new Porsches and purchased a 993 [ ].

POST 13Original post

not so sure, im told 993 prices are on the decrease and 964"s on the increase
