Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hello all. What is the likelihood that both the right and left water catch pans would have a leak? That is what I'm thinking is going on. I've made sure that the drains work properly, and I still am getting significant water intrusion (passenger side worst) on both sides. Water is coming down the B-pillar into the floor. I can't see exactly where the problem is and I'm thinking the top will have to come out to pinpoint it. So, anyone else have this experience? Is there contact and wear between the top mechanism and the drain tray that over time could cause this? It seems like this issue has come out of no where or maybe I've just become aware. How difficult is it to change the water catch pans? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

There was someone here or on FB just the other day who had a similar leak, right after visiting the dealer for some service. Turned out the dealership neglected to put the catch-trough back in place in the top compartment, so instead of water running into the catch pans, it was running into the cabin. That's about a 30 second fix once you open the rear lid to max open. Was that you? Whoever it was realized the cause of their issue and was going to take it back to the dealer to rectify - I suggested this would be a good opportunity to DIY, since it's really absolutely trivial to fix, requiring no parts and no smarts. I would ding the dealer on the service questionnaire the owner is going to get from Porsche-NA.
