Hi Eastwood02 - How about heading over to https://www.planet-9.com/forums/new_members/ and introducing yourself and your vehicle. What sort of "obd reader" were you using? If it's only an OBD-II code reader that's not going to help a lot in diagnosing a Tiptronic issue. The OBD-II reader is primarily for emissions codes. Porsche stores error codes in all the modules of the car, and given the message you got - there are undoubtedly some stored in the "TCM" (Transmission Control Module) that would give us a big clue as to what is wrong. So you've got to find someone with a Porsche specific tool, or buy one yourself (not terribly expensive - look in our diagnostics forum), or go visit a dealer. Buying your own diagnostics tool is a one-time expense, typically less than the cost of one dealership visit - it pays for itself very quickly. Take a look at: https://www.planet-9.com/forums/porsche-diagnostics-and-programming.349/ - lots of info there. The explanation given for the C418 code is inexplicable and just jibberish. Here is what Porsche says about code U0418: So it's telling you it had some issues reading a module - but no direction on what module. I think you need more than an OBD-II code reader to start diagnosing this yourself - or it's dealer time.
