This is not a probability of success.

It's always good to see a positive review of a 996 and interesting to hear someone in the motor trade say they think views have changed on the car.

Suggestion

As an owner I don't watch videos to learn about 996s and I have zero interest in a video about all the variants or hearing about the nth mm difference in valve clearances between models or even hearing every intricate detail that changes through the models life.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

One of the better YouTuber's. A few,as expected, inaccuracies but he's got my motor running again for a 911

POST 2Original post

...pretty useless video frankly...another youtube numpty talking shite on Video... At least get the basic facts right! The interweb is littered with this pointless cack :dont know:

POST 3Original post

Agree there's inaccuracies but he openly admits to not being a 911 expert and he's not pretending to be one. He's an open & honest car dealer, telling how it is from perspective of non-specialised dealer.

POST 5Original post

Don't let Parsley see this Video! Another gross missuse of the "Fried Egg" terminology, and to make matters worse, out there on You Tube. If we are not careful this will make 3-4 pages, just on people not understanding the point of not being " Fried Eggs". Phew! I got that off my chest. Paul

POST 6Original post

I could probably have a decent stab at doing an informative video about the 996 variants, but there are so many already what would be the point? I suspect the majority of people who watch them know a lot about the cars in most instances, and when they don't the minor inaccuracies wouldn't be an issue. MC

POST 7Original post

Lasted 5 or 6 minutes before falling into a coma.

POST 8Original post

FFS FRIED EGG........here is another prime example of someone doing a video without doing their homework. Honest to god. Arrrrggghhhh.

POST 9Original post

Just seen your post mate. Too late

POST 10Original post

Well he certainly nailed the bit about forums being full of nerdy know it alls. Who cares if he got a few things wrong, it's not meant to be a technical review. I watched his 996 turbo and 997 reviews recently and he wasn't that enthusiastic about either as he's just not a 911 guy. It's always good to see a positive review of a 996 and interesting to hear someone in the motor trade say they think views have changed on the car.

POST 11Original post

If I ever do a general video about the 996, I will aim to get all sorts of nerdy details right, but I'll call all headlights 'fried eggs', just for Parsley. Argh, who am I kidding, I'd have to point out all variants. The more I hear about these the more I feel there actually is a gap for a properly informed video. If there was one, what would you like to see in it? There isn't a lot I don't know about the 996 and I'm happy to call ***** on other videos, so other than trotting out what you know in a video about a 996, if you watched one, what would you want to learn? MC

POST 12Original post

As an owner I don't watch videos to learn about 996s and I have zero interest in a video about all the variants or hearing about the nth mm difference in valve clearances between models or even hearing every intricate detail that changes through the models life. I will watch how to's and demo's (watched a few of yours MisterCorn) before tackling a DIY or to help diagnose an issue. I'll watch videos on modified ones to see what people have done. Other than that I'll watch the odd exhaust comparison video (more during winter when I need reminded of why I keep it) or I'll watch reviews so I can shout at the TV if it's negative or feel good about my choices if it's positive. When I was looking to buy I watched lots of buyers guides, reviews and looked for owners stories. I wanted to know what I was getting into and wanted to know the key things to look for and what to check. I found I got more of that info from reading old threads in forums and owners groups than from videos. So perhaps there's a gap there. If you're wanting to make a video that will get lots of views then I'm not sure here is the best place to ask for opinions. My viewing habits are about 50% YT and the other 50% split between Netflix and Prime. I get the impression (from a few threads) many here don't watch much Youtube or really understand it that well.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I agree and my link has been seemingly lost on all but two of you that replied. Always interesting to hear other opinions though. :thumb:

This dude made a fifteen minute video covering a 1 minute's worth of content.
