On closer inspection I realised that when this "Porsche" Indy" fitted the New Coil packs he somehow managed to trap the over flow vent rubber pipe from the coolant filler behind the bottom part of the rear coils pack?!

It was leaking slightly only when you gave it some beans, he also left the passenger side back box blowing slightly at the joint which is now also fixed, maybe he was in a rush but if I had just paid £960 I would not expect it to come back leaking oil & one of the "new" backboxs blowing ,quite easy to see all black around the clamp where it had not been tightened enough.

Suggestion

Basically you just remove the coil pack and spark plug, and use an internal puller to remove the tube.

grease on the tube pressed it back in using a old radiator cap from a Renault van & hey presto no more nasty leaks & burning smells !!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My car had all the plugs & coil packs renewed in February , there is a very slight leak that is not there at idle or when engine is revved or when egine off.Only after a spirited drive it leaks a few drops onto the exhaust & it smells ? after reading the forums I think it is either from the spark plugs tubes or the little sender . Can anyone tell me how to get the heatshield off? is it a pulloff or is it fastened?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok I realised when I got underneath it was just 2 bolts . When the heatshield was out of the way I could see the leak was coming from the last plug hole rear of car passenger side. The previous owner had it serviced mid February full service (£114 odd on oil!)6 new plugs & 6 new coil packs & all filters oil, fuel, Air & cabin filter.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well that was short lived, its still leaking so I suppose its the plug tubes .can anyone tell me how to replace these ?

POST 4Original post

Basically you just remove the coil pack and spark plug, and use an internal puller to remove the tube. Drop me an email if you would like the instructions and I'll attach them to a reply.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok I followed the instructions sent to me by Richard ,when I came to take the coil pack out of the tube the tube came out with it !!The tube & rubbers were new in February when it was serviced so I put some silicone grease on the tube pressed it back in using a old radiator cap from a Renault van & hey presto no more nasty leaks & burning smells !! Thanks again Richard you are a Diamond
