Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dear All, some advice please. Over the cold weather the LCD display within the AC dashboard control unit has steadily deteriorated to the extent that now there is a large blob over one half of the temperature display and the ventilation speed area is also variable and only partly working. Any suggestions on the way forward? Does this mean a complete new unit or can just the LCD be replaced? I will take a picture tonight and post later. Many thanks....

There is a DIY here if you fancy repairing it yourself: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/tutorials/article/28-cracked-or-bleeding-climate-control/

POST 3Original post

Looks like the ebay link on the Rentech article is no longer valid but a quick search round shows that the Porsche unit is almost identical to the Audi A3/A4. Perhaps just a matter of changing over the fascia There's a few on ebay UK currently around £25 for auction or £60+ for buy it now http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260585091796 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130383102908 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270565367374
