you would need to check for a voltage on startup from cold and often on a tester you will see a far lower voltage ..
Leading evidence: 'Check voltage' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check voltage' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Re:- CEL and Fault Codes P0134 & P0154
Hi
I've just had the manifolds and exhausts removed from my 996.2 to replace the manifold and cat bolts which were in extremely poor condition.. They are now back on the car as of yesterday and the CEL has come on with the fault codes 0030 0050 P0134 P0154.. I am an little suspicious that it a failure of the 02 sensors as the codes suggest as both post cat sensors on each bank are flagging as faults.. Any suggestion? I've not had the CEL come on before the manifolds and exhausts were removed so it's not a pre existing issue I wouldn't think.
Regards
Johnny
Did you refit the same manifolds and cats or did you go for new items? Who did the work? A little more information may help in diagnosis.
My guess would be that perhaps the lambda probes didn't get plugged back in properly?
All the same OEM parts were refitted it was just new manifold bolts, manifold to cat nuts and bolts and new exhaust clamps plus new gaskets obviously. it's the fact both post cat lambda sensors on each bank are throw up faults which is puzzling. if it was one side I would have just put it down to a failed oxygen sensor.
Thanks
Johnny
The usual way of separating the flange studs is plenty of heat and plenty of bashing with a large hammer ..
There is always a risk that lambda sensors might get damaged .. rare but it does happen
Codes both mention the heater circuit of the lambda sensors .. it's possible that side of the sensor is not working .. you would need to check for a voltage on startup from cold and often on a tester you will see a far lower voltage .. ie 1.5 when the car has warmed up ..
The 2 white wires on the sensor are the heater ones .. pos / earth .
measure at the sensor .. if there is a voltage at the wiring plug but codes saying the heater is inop then its the lambda sensors .
Code lists these as upstream though and not down stream .. that would be the primary lambdas and not the cat ones .
