Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 2Original post

Hi - Welcome to Planet-9, the Friendy Porsche Forum for Frustrated Porsche Owners with Scuffed Top window guides.. (a bit of a stretch on that one..) This has been discussed before, and I can't recall ever hearing a real solution except buying a new piece and fitting it (quite expensive to do..) I think if you were willing to refinish 4 of the pieces that make up that header on both sides, perhaps with some pebble finish black paint, it might just look OK. There is a special painting technique used to create that sort of finish, and the painter I knew who was able to do this passed away unfortunately. I'm going to subscribe to this thread in the hope that someone may have come up with an answer and will post it here. The lesson to be learned from this is - don't let the elastics go bad on the top, this IS the result of the top pulling over the slot it's supposed to be pulled into rather than going into the slot. If you have a chance - before posting again - please read the sticky about posting pics on Planet-9 (top of every page) and head on over to https://www.planet-9.com/forums/new_members/ and introduce yourself and your Boxster! Good on'ya getting this post in the correct subforum!
