This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Should be picking up a 996 when lockdown ever ends and need to have a couple of child seats for two kids of 4 and 2. I think forward facing would be best especially as the wife will be in the front. What's the latest models/thoughts on giving them the most room and having seats which fit well in the car? The only threads I have seen have been old and the models discountiued.

POST 2Original post

I spent a while looking for my 997.2 which is about the same size in the back as a 996 but I couldn't find a decent one with the 4-point style harness. I saw some recommendations but none of them looked like they were that safe For my eldest, I was recommended the Maxi-Cosi Rodifix Air Protect Group 2/3 https://www.johnlewis.com/maxi-cosi-rodifix-air-protect-group-2-3-car-seat-authentic-black/p4939732 by someone who had a 996. This is the 15Kg+ seat which is basically a booster and uses the car's seatbelt as the restraint so it might just be ok for a 4/5 year old but definitely not a two year old. This fits well in the back of mine. Another friend of mine who has a 997 just bought the Porsche seat which was £150 or so with discount, that's also just a booster though

POST 3Original post

For boosters I bought Halfords cheapies. Not because I'm cheap, but because the footprint was small enough to fit in the back seats - normal ones are too big. Because I like my kids (most if the time) I re-padded them for comfort but at £10 or so each you can't really go wrong. I did not have to face stage 2 seats in the car so cannot help on that one. POST 4Original post

I did some research and here's my findings over trailing every possible forum on the internet with 996/997 rear child seats and the current 2020 offering in the market : Best fit : BeSafe iZi Comfort X3 Car Seat https://www.naturalbabyshower.co.uk/products/besafe-izi-comfort-x3-car-seat-metallic-melange Another option : Maxi Cosi Tobi - rubs against pillar https://www.maxi-cosi.co.uk/car-seats/tobi another option : Britax Evolva 123 https://www.britax-romer.co.uk/car-seats/toddler/evolva-1-2-3/1350.html

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks all, that's really useful. Sounds like I may need to try a few but there are options which is good to know.

POST 6Original post

After someone on here suggested Halfords Essential Group 1/2/3 child seat I bought one at Christmas and it's a great fit in the rear. Especially for £30 as well. (not that I am cheap either, just wanted something that worked!)

POST 7Original post

Recaro Monza for the older child works well but I am still looking for one to fit the back of a Convertible for a younger child, your car will be bigger so there are a few more options.
