Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I was using Pagid RS19 for the last six months, recently the pads get thin and I replaced it with brand new RS19. What I noticed is the brake pedal travel more or more as the pad get thinner. In other word, I have to depress the pedal more to archive the same amount of braking force as the pad get thinner. First, I thought it must be bubbles in the fluid, so I bleed it every 2 track days, no luck. Right after I replaced it with the new pad, the hard, strong pedal feeling is back. I thought I read it somewhere that our brake system will compensate for the pad thickness so the driver get the same feeling regardless. But in my experience, it is not. Comment pls?

POST 2Original post

I suspect you are experiencing increased heat related brake fade as the pad gets thinner, resulting in greater pedal travel for the same braking force. Worn pads alone will not result in greater pedal travel.

POST 3Original post

Whenever I replace my pads it feels like the amount of pedal travel required before the pedal firms up is reduced. In other words, the pedal feels firm right near the top. When the pads are worn there is more pedal travel before I reach that firm spot. I am referring to the pedal feel with cold brakes. But this doesn't change under track conditions.
