Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I posted a note some time back regarding a rattle at the front. Next friday she will go to the garage and we can have it inspected. Previous answers we re very helpful and will at least help in the dialogue, but a further question. Top mount bushings and drop links have been changed previously, suggestions from the forum about lower swing arms came up. A friend suggested that aftermarket pads could cause the rattle ie not fitting as tightly and thus rattling as they wear, any thoughts? Thanks M :worship:

POST 2Original post

If the shims haven't been fitted when the pads were changed then in theory this could be your rattle. Take the wheel off and try wiggling the pads within the caliper to recreate it, there should be no play with shims attached... :thumb:
