Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Install porscheshop' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install porscheshop' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I've got it installed all right but the alloy stopper plug keeps poping up.

There are however, those that still say that it is to simply deaden sound, but from removing and blocking of the HH resonator and using the stock pipe myself as a test I can say it makes no difference to the sound or induction noise.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I noticed no difference in either sound or performance so just put the stock bits back ( I didn't really expect it to improve performance, but did expect to hear induction as per many threads out there, I heard nothing different).
Hi, anyone who's got any experince with the induction kit from Design911?
I've got it installed all right but the alloy stopper plug keeps poping up. There was no instruction following the kit but from what I see there aren't to many ways of inserting the stopper plug?
Cheers
i fitted the porscheshop.co.uk equivilent a couple of weeks ago. I chose to blank off the hole with the plumbing bits as shown the thread below. also did you remove the helmholtz resonator?

Interesting, I know that the cap being pressed on top instead of screwed from underneath can cause it to blow off - there are a few types on the market.
Without going off on one, I tried the orange cap style method one afternoon when I was bored and removed the HH resonator blocking off the outlet with a cap and locking mechanism I made whilst clamping the Y spur down on the blocked pipe. I noticed no difference in either sound or performance so just put the stock bits back ( I didn't really expect it to improve performance, but did expect to hear induction as per many threads out there, I heard nothing different).
There's lots of threads out there saying that the HH resonator is there to stop pulses and fluctuations in the air flow past the MAF meaning it can give a more accurate reading as well, there is also a technical doc floating around on the net to support this. There are however, those that still say that it is to simply deaden sound, but from removing and blocking of the HH resonator and using the stock pipe myself as a test I can say it makes no difference to the sound or induction noise.
Not sure why, perhaps the 3.4 already has plenty of airflow, or perhaps my exhaust for some strange reason is louder, but lets be honest, the only induction noise we will get is through the snorkel, if we had an open filter it would be another story, but I'm not into heat soak.
Anyway, let me know how you guys get on with your inductions - would be interesting to hear as I don't think many people with ROW cars have done this (most on forums are in the US).
Cheers,
Thanks, I didn't remove the helmholtz but someone told me about it earlier today, nice to see the pictures though.
I'll see if I can get my head around those plumbing bits. ;-)
Cheers
Hi, forgot to update this, I ended up gluing the plug to the filter box, works well so far.
Also removed the resonator and there's definetely more sound now, far from a PSE but noticable. ;-) Went to a trackday this weekend and constant running at high revs almost made my ears ring.
More of that please!
Update part 2:
Did some tunnel runs today, there is actually a lot more sound outside the car as well, I came out of the tunnel with a grin so wide I had to borrow the passanger seat. [8D]
Cool.
I tried the orange cap style mod with removing the HHR, but I didn't notice any difference on my car, not sure why, although my stock system sounds quite throaty anyway?
I ended up putting it back to normal
