Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, Something bizarre...A few weeks ago i noticed when I tried to switch on my main lights (using the dial switch below and to the right of the steering wheel) nothing happened! Side lights went on fine but no Xenon Main lights :dont know: I rotated the dial switch to off and then on 4 to 5 times then suddenly the lights came on. But now, (a few weeks down the road) I have to turn the dial on/off at least 10 times before the Xenons fire up! Is this most likely a problem with the dial switch or something worse like the Xenon power pack system? Once the lights are on...no problem and there has been no mods. How do I remove the dial switch so that I may give it a clean on the terminals, (if there are any). Bit of a nightmare since you don't know if you're driving with main lights on or not during twilight. Thanks, Avais

POST 2Original post

The switches are a common problem, and I would suggest changing it. Pull the knob out and you will see a brass tag at the bottom - push it and the knob will come off. Undo the 3 screws and the side vent comes off and you can get at the switch. LHD shown, but you get the idea.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Many thanks Richard for your help! I'll give that a try this weekend. Avais

POST 4Original post

Hi Avais Had the same problem on my c2 shortly after buying it from an indy, it started as an intermitant fault and after playing with the switch the lights would eventually come on. As indicated it's a major problem if u don't know if the're on or not in twilight conditions, anyway switch changed under warranty problem solved. javascript:emoticon('')
