Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Went to the chippy, driving casually down the road and the alarm starts blaring. Pulled over to the side of the road to switch the car off, lock it and unlock it to try and reset the alarm. Starter motor turned over once and then died. i then glanced at the battery meter and it was just over 10. Balls  With chips on the seat and a hungry fiancee at home I had a think. If I could push the car 1/4 of a mile then there would be a steep hill. 10 minutes later and armpits that would scare a kippers crabs I reached the hill, coasted down and bumped it. result! Get the car home, delivers chips to fiancee, park up and call Porsche assistance. Called them at 2045hrs, at least I'm warm at home. I'll keep you posted Oh, and holy MOLY are Porsches heavy :cigar:

POST 2Original post

Wowwwwwww.... And I was wondering when I saw the title how on earth you sent the post (although I can do it though my mobile ) Dead battery should be easy to fix but I am not sure what Porsche Assist will do ; unless they have the right battery with them.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

They have just called to say no one available till 10.30 :what: maybe its because i'm low priority being safe at home.

POST 4Original post

Not what you need on a Friday night, still at least you earnt the chips! Who was steering though?! Hope you get sorted ok.

POST 5Original post

Cruise control :floor: (remember a case in the US about the role of CC/Auto Pilot ) As for the chips you should have got a double portion... you end up burning them all before you even had them....

POST 6Original post

Might be the battery but to me sounds like the alternator.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, alternator wasnt charging the battery. They couldn't get it on the truck because of the aerokit :x Sent this giant lorry where the whole of the back of it came on the ground, job done  Off to bed now, working early. I'll sign in to the forum anticipating the replies to the following question. Will it be covered under warranty? :?
