Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I might take the throttle body off then and give it a quick clean, thanks...

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After a bit of a spirited drive back into town this evening I was stopped at a set of lights and noticed my engine revs idling high, around 1.2k revs and searching, it's usually around the 600 mark. I also noticed the voltage gauge fluctuating aswell, usually up at 14 but dropped to 10 and back. First time it's ever done that, it's settled now but is this normal :? I remember reading someone else having this problem but can't find the thread now...

POST 2Original post

A fluctuating idle on an eGas car can be caused by a build up of carbon in the throttle body. Not sure about the voltage going up and down. Is your battery OK?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Everything seems normal now, the voltage actually went down to 12 and then back up again. I might take the throttle body off then and give it a quick clean, thanks... :thumb:

POST 4Original post

It's usually a build-up around where the butterfly seats. Just take off the inlet hose and take a look. You don't need to take the whole throttle body off. Just hold the butterfly open and use some carb cleaner to remove the carbon.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cool, thanks, I'll do that this week...
