No reports of brake/disc changed (they was changed less then 500 Miles anyway!) - But thought they may try it with the build up of "rust"...

The ignition coil was changed over at just the parts cost (no additional labour) and they also did the bulb too!!

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

They are prepared to go rock bottom !
And on record time too...
I had rear wishbones to be replaced ( actually they are being replaced ) and some geo to be done.
Center Gravity are top notch people and "found me" a spot on Friday - and told me that yesterday.
So basically, the car had to go in yesterday afternoon and be ready today - granted, changing wishbones is 1hour labour per side, not a gearbox rebuild, buit OPC dont lake late bookings with "I-need-the-car-tomorrow" .
So I phoned around some indies ( RSJ, JZM, etc ) and got similar quotes and RSJ was ready to do me the booking when I received ( after 48 hours ) the quote from my OPC and it was close.
Phoned OPC, told them about the timmings ( they wanted to book for April ) and barted the price and guess what - they are LOWER than indy. And got a good deal on tyres as well ( £20 more expensive than simplytyres ). AND they sloted the car in yesterday.
So car will be ready today, wishbones and tyres, at an OPC with prices matching an indy ( parts AND labour reduced)
Go figure.
Cant fault OPC East London though.
Personally I would not ask OPC or Dick Turpin for a better deal any time after recieving a bum deal. I know the're not all bad.
I would find a Trustworthy Indie and spend my money with him/her every time.
Just my opinion! :thumb:
Tried OPC East London West London Hatfield etc, all a bunch of :bandit: :bandit: :bandit: . all £400 more expensive than majority of Indies for my clutch and rms change :?

8) :bye:
I bargained Cambridge OPC less than JZM and a couple of other indies for my new front rads in December.
Yesterday they refitted a washer pipe for free while I waited with a coffee and a biscuit. They even washed and hoovered it, which was nice.
At the end of the day I guess it depends on how desperate they are on the day you call  . For me, I always negotiate, but a 10% discount :hand: might get close to JZM prices, but not other Indies
.
As we all know OPC mark up all parts hugely, just look at brakes, clutches, rads, spark plugs, batteries etc etc. Dont forget that the fancy showroom needs to be paid for
uh: as well as those suits :cop:
Anyway, I would prefer to get an experienced mechanic :judge: working on my car rather han a young kid.
Thankfully we all have choice, you pays your money.....................
Ray
:eh!:
I received the below quote for a service, is that a good price OPC Porsche West London
Also - do you agree about doing the Minor service if its low mileage, instead of Major?
Will have done about 5000 miles in a year, is that low mileage?
Thanks
Edward
Ted
you could get that down from £380 to £280 if you shop around, I have a quote of £270 from my OPC for the minor service - not the 12 month inspection .
cheers
Morgan
Try the Chinesse approach to bargaining if they ask for £100 offer £1.00 and so on.
Always good for openers. Dont be worried of being thought a cheapskate.
This is a great honour for the Chinese to be called that :floor:
Big Bob :bye:
Mine just came back....72K (yes 72K!) service with the addition of the following-
- sparks (changed due to age),
- polyrib belt (proactive change/age),
- airbag check :dont know:
- ignition coils (which I was aware that were cracked, but not yet misfiring),
- top-up oil (I requested as the cost saved visiting halfords wouldn't be worth the savings...
...and a bulb!
Prices was negotiated all of addition work carried out.... They did want £52 for the bulb change in which I didn't bother and just requested them to leave the bulb part in the car.
The ignition coil was changed over at just the parts cost (no additional labour) and they also did the bulb too!!
All in all, Im quite pleased with the service (and importantly courtesy) - It seems the snobbery not being present can only account to the recession....
No reports of brake/disc changed (they was changed less then 500 Miles anyway!) - But thought they may try it with the build up of "rust"...
.....that plus the parts/labour club discount!
All in all? £906.10
I must say - Im quite pleased with OPC East London (those who have read my posts will know that their level of "service" varied from the first day of deciding on purchasing a porker...) - Hopefully my pleasant comment wont bite me back with a mysterious problems of some sort, that may follow !!
OPC told me that two of my pencil coils were cracked - could you describe what your's were like so I know what to look for :?: :superstition:
cheers Ray
Mine last checked had the metal ridges expand around 5mm - with obviously the plastic causing split (far worse the the ones below)
- Its usually caused by exposure to the elements (rain/salt ect)

Hope it helps - If in doubt, ask to see them. Tbh - I changed them as there was no additional labour charge (and 15% discount on the part), so figured why not...
