Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

After checking my coolant level and discovering it was a pint low (20000 miles) I added a pint of distilled water. After a few hours I suddenly thought "hey, maybe the Porsche coolant is not supposed to be mixed/ diluted with distilled water. I did this without thinking as I have always mixed the coolant on my other vehicles with a 50/50 mixture of H20 and coolant. Anyone know if I have doomed my engine block/ or related parts by doing this? I don't think it was enough to affect the freeze point but what about corrosion? Should I think about getting it flushed out??

POST 2Original post

I think you'll be fine. I wish I thought of distilled water before I paid $25 for my gallon of " Porsche " coolant to top mine off!

POST 4Original post

I was told by the service department to just top off with distilled water, as that is what they do. I added about 1 pint two years ago, and it sits at that level today. No leaks. No cooling issues. You will be fine. Just don't put water in the oil spout.

POST 5Original post

yea, in all the other coolant posts they just used water so that's what i did. i just found mine about a liter low a last weekend. It's probably been like that for the last 13,000 miles but the light just came on...
