Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My c 4 s does the same thing i checked the alignment with my 4 wheel supertracker and its all fine.
Leading evidence: 'Check alignment' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check /' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

When the geometry was checked did they first check/reset the dead ahead position before going to the castor/camber/alignment checks?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi everyone,
Having recently had the geometry done and new tyres fitted, I'm still noticing a fairly sizeable pull to the nearside on most roads. Is this normal for the 996 because of fatness of tyres on the normal road camber? Or could it be something else? I'm on normal 18" wheels, Bridgestone s02, owned it for a year, 53 Targa.
Doesn't feel quite straight squat enough for me right now! Anyone else ever encounter this?
Cheers!
hello mate. My c 4 s does the same thing i checked the alignment with my 4 wheel supertracker and its all fine. Mine does seem to tram line a bit due to the width of the tyres
Sorry to disagree but this really shouldn't be the case. Mine is an older 996 but had geometry done at Ninemeister and lowered the pressures to 36 / 40 as advised at the time, the handling was much better ever since.

Hi Albany123, have you noticed any unusual symptoms from the Power Steering, ie minor twitches on potholes and bumps etc?
When the geometry was checked did they first check/reset the dead ahead position before going to the castor/camber/alignment checks?
Regards Big Bob :bye:
Yeah I can't help feeling it shouldn't be like this!
I'll check pressures later today - the tyres are only 3 months old. Geo done after the new tyres (different place). This was out and it felt a bit better, but it's still feeling a little reluctant to move right on occasions...
Hi
+1 on the tyre pressures - you may have also lost a wheel weight, for piece of mind get it all checked again, pressures and balancing will be next to nowt to get checked - if your still unhappy take it back to where you got the GEO done and ask them to recheck. (also get a before and after printout)

Thanks for the views - tyres pressures on rears were out.
Oddly the rear offside was about 2 psi lower than rear nearside (fronts the same) which would imply a pull to the right? Anyway, I've set to 42 / 34 and this has improved it, but not completely gone. I will re-check with the geo outfit - the print out showed everything properly aligned about 2 months ago, but as you say may have lost a weight or something in the meantime.
Maybe check the notorious drop links, ensure they are all healthy and not worn.
Also check the distance between top of tyre and wing edge, you may have a faulty shock abs.
