Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

It worked wonders for my ex 996 Carrera 2.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just bought my first Porsche (996 targa) and was wondering if anyone could recommend any performance upgrades like induction or exhaust?, I had an 06 Mustang GT before the porsche and there was loads of stuff to buy. Prices as well would be useful, thanks, Lee

POST 2Original post

Start with the usual stuff......sports exhaust(EVO/Miltek), ECU remap and sports airbox and air filter. You should see at least + 25BHP. The car will be a tad louder Then 100/200 cel cats + headers + induction kit if you want to spend more money. Just make sure your engine baseline is sorted - ie coil packs, leads, plugs, MAF etc before you spend any money.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

sounds good, I started with similar things on my mustang, I bought a K&N system (induction) which was good value at $300, the exhaust was a nightmare - all it did was get really loud and droned inside the car, went back to standard on that one. I also had an ECU remap on a rolling road but found that the standard set up was already very good, only an extra 10 HP could be achieved without the car beginning to detonate. Thanks, Lee

POST 4Original post

Take a look at whats available at the Porsch Shop (talk to Paul), ie REVO Upgrade + Supersprint Complete Exhaust System + Fabspeed Cold Air Intake System. It worked wonders for my ex 996 Carrera 2. Regards Big Bob :bye: PS check out website for latest prices, and shipping costs if required. Labour costs for fitment very very reasonable too!

POST 5Original post

Hi I'd spend the initial money on getting the basics done i.e brakes, clutch tyres. Then get on to the slippy slope of mods if I was to startagain I'd go in the following order. - Short Shifter - Geo - Suspension (Springs, Dampers and ARB's) - Strut Brace - Engine Mounts - Zorst - Induction - Map - Simon
