Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi can amyone help got a fellow R26 member doing the grand tour of Europe, enjoying the Stelvio Pass, reports bas whirring sound from the aircon after 10 mins running - air tem is 30 degrees. Is anyhting else run off the same belt as the air-con, thats important like power steering or alteranator? Any pointers much appreciated

POST 2Original post

Sounds like the aircon needs a top-up. The pumps get a bit noisy when the pressure is low.

POST 3Original post

Richard, I am getting the same noise but mine has recently been serviced as I had to have the two rad's replaced. The noise goes when I turn the air con off. Any ideas?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Richard for the advice. he has switched the aircon off and will get it looked at when he gets back to the UK.

POST 5Original post

It is quite often low pressure which causes it, so it would be worth taking it back and getting them to check the charge.
