I've seen a place in St Albans that does a lot of Porsche's and they're recommended by Porsche

I don't know if it can be repaired easily, the extreme would be to replace this panel, but what is it?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
Gutted, Gutted, Gutted. Cutting down my tree in the front driveway, got to the last branch and fell, rebounding off the wall and hit my baby on the side of the roof! It's caused a light crease / dent, no paint damage but for me it looks just awful. I don't know if it can be repaired easily, the extreme would be to replace this panel, but what is it? Is it part of the quarter panel? Surely not as this half the blimmin car!
Any suggestions of good body repairers around the Luton area much appreciated...and also again, what's this part??
Thanks
Avais
Looks painful
Thank God you didn't do yourself an injury too.
Anyone doing work on their house especially painting or heavy garden work, always move the car!!!
Premier are in Luton, good and bad reports but they are big players for
insurance
companies.
I'd suggest a call to Dentaway or whatever the paintless dent removal guys are called. They may be able to remove roof/side interior panel and push this out with their very skillful techniques. They are very good and worth exploring as you dont want to have to put new paint on if not required, plus a lot cheaper too.
Oh, that's really unlucky
There's a massive tubular structure under there. Assuming it can be got to from the other side, it should be possible to dolly that dent (mostly) out and do a light filler skim & paint.
Try Premier Bodyshops on 01582 424100
or Daytona Coachworks in Stevenage 01438 367957
They do a lot of Pork & I've seen the quality of their work :thumb:
Thanks guys for your quick replies, most appreciated. Can't really do an
insurance
claim as I have £750 access!! So may be I'll give these Dentwaya guys a call.
And oh just to be clear, I noticed a grammar error
I didn't fall onto the car the branch did!
Thanks again.

PS, what's the name of this damaged area, it's not the roof and it's not the side? :?
I'd say that would only be likely to work on a panel with no structure behind it like wings or parts of doors or the centre of a roof, certainly not in this area. :dont know:
I don't know if there is a correct name for this part.
A good deantsaway compnay will be able to get that out.. But make sure you ask them when the turn up if they can remove the dent, you don't want some cowboy 'having a go' at it !
Yes, I contacted my home insurance company today and to cut a long story short they told me to get on my bike! "Contact your car insurance company" they said.
Went to Premier in Luton today and awaiting their quote. He reckoned the dent is part of the quarter panel. They would have to remove the side window, and weld to bolts around the dent and lift it up and rebuild the styling crease, they can't get into it from underneath as there are several sheets of metal underneath the dent that provides the 'stength' to the car. I told him that could poke my finger into that area from inside the car and therefore there must be a way to push it from there but he didn't comment.
I can't seem to find a local 'Dentsaway' company, searched the web and I can only find one in Northern Ireland :dont know: If anyone has a number for someone who covers the bedfordshire area then much appreciated.
I can highly recommend

Although they don't seem to get quite as far over a Luton as standard, it'd be worth giving them a call anyway.
As others have already said, make sure you get a realistic idea of the end result. It is almost impossible to pull out dings like this without still being able to see a ripple. Repairs tend to be quite cheap from the likes of 'Dents away', but its pointless having it done if you won't be happy with the end result.
Sorry to hear your news

There is also a place very close to Screwfix in Luton that makes claims about being top drawer, you can probably find them via google
cheers

Thanks all for your genuine sympathy and good advice....I'm really touched
Anyway, got the quote in from Premier in Luton for the repair and also to rid a donation mark from a bird that bled it's way through the laquer, just to polish out mind you. All in all £1,058!! Having a laugh or what
Ill try Dentsaway I think, let you know what they say.....the story continues...
