Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Run cooler' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check coolant level' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Maybe the car was checking my integrity or maybe this is related to some of the above.

Also it might worth checking your radiators that they have nothing blocking the ventilation.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hi guys
went for a drive on sunday and pretty much was in traffic for 45 mins with a few tiny runs (max 45mph) in between.
the temperature is normally stuck at around 80 but was considerably higher going not far off the 90 mark and took a while to cool down once i found an open road...anything to keep an eye on?..my old 928 gts stayed the same temperature always, no matter if i was in a traffic jam or on the motorway..i know their different beasts though.
cheers
peter
Check the coolant level. Also was the temperature fluctuating or just went up when in traffic?
Also it might worth checking your radiators that they have nothing blocking the ventilation.
+1. Could also be that your fans aren't working or the thermostat has gone faulty - when they fail, and they do, they can be a bit erratic in operation. :dont know:
Ray :?:
I had a bizzare reversal of this just yesterday.
After a 30 min. journey my temp.had not even reached 80,I always take a look before pressing on, so as a good owner I waited a while before opening up. Sure enough the normal 83,84 soon registered.
The car always runs at this temp.even in the bleak winter, traffic or even a heatwave.( last one only a prediction )
Maybe the car was checking my integrity or maybe this is related to some of the above.
I'll keep you posted.
When you guys quote the engine temp are you taking it off the dial or from the "secret" read-out in the climate control display?
Also from reading the service book at cannell.co.uk it seems that normal temp is 90 (+/- 5) , does that sound right?
But everyone has the secret readout!
Hold the recirc button and the "up" arrow at the same time for about 10 secs and enter the world of digital temp readout
The use the temp increase/decrease buttons to find read-out "6" and then clcik oin the middle "vent" button to see the water temp displayed in degrees C
Just wondering what other people get as when my dial is dead upright in the 12 o'clock position the digital readout reads 90
to be fair the GT3 might be different and also a friend from the US says his button layout is different on his '99 C2
There is a thread somewhere on Pistonheads about it which is where i found it.
I have just had a play and I don't what I have done.
Shows 9 deg I can not work my heater temp.
Is this written down somewhere.
Will it reset to normal function.
I selected option 996 and requested ££ function (residual value)
Only the down button would function is this correct?
