Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thinking about replacing discs at somepoint and just doing some research. I don't want to upgrade caliper size and go the whole Turbo/BigBrake Kit route so looking for a rotor that will work with current 4pots. From what I'm gathering slotted rotors are a better performer than cross drilled. Increased braking due to greater disc/pad contact area together with longer life. Found these... http://www.girodisc.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=31_176_380&products_id=914 Comments or opinions?

POST 2Original post

Using slotted disc's instead of x drilled will get you away from the star cracking problem that you get on standard disc, and therefore should increase the life of the disc. That what I'm trying to do by using PF pads / Disc's Whether a slotted disc has a greater contact surface area than a x drilled disc is questionable? And if it does I cant see it being noticable. If you are looking to increase braking power, you need bigger disc's and 6 pot calipers If you are looking to increase disc live I would suggest you get rid of the x drilled disc and go slotted If you are trying to reduce brake fade change the pad material. You mite want to look at www.fvd.de www.cargraphic.com Both have a good selection of pads and disc's.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was just looking at a straight alternative to OEM cross drilled but at $2200 I can't really see the value. I''m not going down the 6pot route as the car is not solely track focused and that's money better spent on a GT3... Thanks though :thumb:

POST 4Original post

Stuart - instead of spending the pennies on upgrades as you have been doing, why not just save it for your forthcoming GT3....we can all see you getting one pretty soon anyway! ~ Maxie

Maxie I'm trying but I get an itchy shopping finger when it's quiet at work... The internet is good for only 2 things, buying stuff and *****, and I can't surf ***** at work... c:

POST 6Original post

Stu mate, put it down - your wallet that is don't do it, you don't need any of it. Save save save as it will just be more money you can't get back on this car you could put towards the new one.

POST 7Original post

My only comment is if you have a Porsche Extended Warranty and you want to keep it under the new regime, fit the OEM parts, Regards Big Bob :bye:

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Jeff, I know, I'll put it down... BB, too late, I'm no longer eligable for renewal anyway thanks to KW Variant 3s... :saw:
