Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Have a 2006 CS with Bose/nav. Looking at the recent head unit replacements (Seican, etc.) I'm more interested in upgrading my system to get Bluetooth, maybe nav. Has anyone identified a recommended installer in the western half of NC or nearby who can handle a replacement head unit, MOST adapter, or integrated. unit? Not really interested in swapping out amp, but would consider.

POST 2Original post

Replacing the head unit, even with the bose MOST amp, is fairly straight forward. You'll need the MOST adapter (I went with a NAV KIT 210), the head unit harness, a car adapter (I told crutchfield I had a non-bose car, it came free with the head unit), the new faceplate, maybe a brake adapter, and a mini ATM fuse tap. Take your time at a desk - I drew up a schematic to work from to show which wires got soldered to what. Most of the car adapter will go unused (speaker wires, etc) - I depinned the connector to clean up the install. 2 of the removed leads were attached to the NAV harness so I didn't have to cut into the CANBUS leads, I pushed them into the connector and secured them. The MOST adapter will more than likely take the pre-amp signal from your head unit (no speaker wires needed). I believe Delray customs can even send you the harnesses all soldered up and ready to go if you tell them what head unit you're putting in...
