Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

Lastly - double check to make sure the fiber hasn't been broken (unlikely, but still check).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

My CDR-24 with Bose has stopped. Again. It's been days now and it's not coming back on. It just went quiet the other day. Also it doesn't recognize the CD changer any more. If you push the CD button it just says CDS rather than switching to CDC or whatever. I've searched here and seen and tried a few suggested fixes - turn off, open and lock door, unlock and turn on. Pull fuses. Wait. Nothing has made any difference. Any other suggestions? I want to replace the had unit soon and use a most adapter but now I don't know if the head unit is bad or the amp or all of it. Any theories would be helpful.

POST 2Original post

Given the wonky read out from the head unit I'd say that's the problem... To remove all doubt, do some testing. I believe there is no difference between the bose and non- bose versions of the cdr24 ... Pop the head unit out of the dash, google the pinout diagram to find which pins make a speaker pair (positive and negative) and hook up any speaker you have - you just want sound, you don't care what it sounds like. After that - make sure the amp is getting power. You should be able to check with a multi meter at the main connector. Lastly - double check to make sure the fiber hasn't been broken (unlikely, but still check). Have a friend shine a light in one end (red if you have it), and hold a card at the other end and look for the light. You're dealing with fiber the size of a human hair - this will take some patience...

POST 3Original post

Good news!!! The 1990's called. They want their CD changer back. :taunt:

POST 4Original post

Thanks man!! I appreciate the help! I'm hoping the amp still works because I plan on replacing the head unit soon.

POST 5Original post

No kidding! When I bought the car I couldn't believe it. CD Changer in 2008? Seriously? And No Blutooth?
