Will it 'plug' into the exsisting amp and speakers, from my understanding the optic fibres are only to run the changer and can be left alone.

From what i have read so far this install is possible, but I have a few questions that hopefully someone can help with. Is the console the same shape as the boxster? I want a nice factory look panel for the single DIN unit to sit in, can a blank off panel be purchased? Will it 'plug' into the exsisting amp and speakers, from my understanding the optic fibres are only to run the changer and can be left alone. What will happen to the 'info' display in the dash once the aftermarket unit is installed?

The info display will show 4 dashes all the time. The install will be easiest if you have the standard sound system or sound package plus. You can use a single-din install kit for a double din opening and use the trim kit readily available on ebay. The console is the same shape as the boxster. - Suneet
