Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Playing around wiht my Bose surround sound stereo and surprisingly did not find an adjustment for the Mid tones, just Bass and Tone level. Even my Subaru Outbakc stock radio has an adjustment for Mids. Can you confirm that there is no mid level adjustment. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

There is no Mid-Range tone control on the Porsche stereos. By the way, there is no guaranteed sonic advantage to providing a Mid-Range adjustment. The amplifiers and speakers are far more important in the chain of making vocals come alive.

POST 3Original post

I've got a $6000 Bryston amp at home with NO tone controls at all! Balance and volume and that's all you get. But then I get to tune my room and my speakers and sub have level and filter cutoffs. I keep them neutral though because I like listening to the mix as it was done in the studio. In general, I like the Bose system. I had a Boxster that had the stock system and I can say that is very poor. The Bose in my CS doesn't have the boominess that some complain about and we've always got the flat six to play music if the Bose isn't up to it!

POST 4Original post

Amen to that. I kill myself when I see people adjusting bass and treble on a high end amp!
