Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Every so often I've noticed that the NAVI map screen in my AVIC-D3 defaults to its home position, downtown Los Angeles, and will not show an accurate current location, even if I remove and reinsert the map DVD. This occurs even though I have good GPS reception. I've found that the following fixes the problem: Go to NAVI menu, choose "SETTINGS," then select "MODIFY CURRENT LOCATION." Then tap the "-" button until you see most the country displayed on the map. Tap twice, as close as you can by your current location, and start driving a bit. In my experience, the unit then begins to recognize your actual location and resets itself to that location. This is much easier than going through the factory reset process! Hope this helps. By the way, a big thanks to all who posted their observations about the AVIC installation process; it really helped me!
