Took about 15 minutes to put the extension plate, adapter together and install, but after all said and done I noticed the horizontal clip that goes into the dash has a little play (wiggles in and out a bit) Its secure enough that it wont fall out but im wondering if anyone else has used proclip to mount electronic devices in their

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

can anyone help me with this question... used the PROCLIP mounting system. Took about 15 minutes to put the extension plate, adapter together and install, but after all said and done I noticed the horizontal clip that goes into the dash has a little play (wiggles in and out a bit) Its secure enough that it wont fall out but im wondering if anyone else has used proclip to mount electronic devices in their caymans and whether or not they have the same problem? I thought it would snap in and just stay solid. more specifically its the proclip dash mount for the left hand side of the radio. Thanks!

POST 2Original post

I have a Garmin also and one of the complaints on some of the websites that rate these things mentions that as a fault. I still think its great and the cable has never fallen out.

POST 3Original post

I used to have mine mounted that way and it had no play. Are you sure that you have it in all the way?

POST 4Original post

I have a Garmin 350 with the pro clip and it doesn't move at all. Very secure and works great.

POST 5Original post

Dash mounted in the air vent and no jiggle. Don't forget to unplug it since the socket is hot all the time or you will drain your battery .

POST 6Original post

thanks guys for yr replies, mmmmm.....Im pretty sure its all the way in (i did hear some snap), im just not sure wat gives... the position where the navi is mounted is great tho... I will post some photos after work so in case i did do sth wrong maybe someone can help point it out... Incidentally Sante Fe, thanks for previously posting pics and description of your mounted nuvi which gave me the idea to do this...

POST 7Original post

To the OP can you provide a photo? My other question is.... I am under the impression the Nuvi charges from it's cradle, not just a plug into the Nuvi itself. Is that True or False?
