I am new to this forum and I won't own my Cayman until Monday, but already I can see I will miss these 2 features. My work car is an Acura TL and I have become accustom to having them. The hands free especially. SO, has any one got any clean after market installation ideas.
we must be clones.. . I too miss blue tooth and XM from my TL !!
I plan to work up a different cell phone with blue tooth ear pod/whatever... as far as XM, I just can't see where an attena would mount -- at least that would look anything but add on -- ugh! the othe thing you will notice, relative to your TL is that the road noise in the Cayman cockpit (heck, we just have to have those 18in wide rubber tires!) is that the sound system will not seem as civilized as in the TL -- which is both quiet and good system! Others will tell you just to enjoy the 6-cylinder sweet sounds from behind your head! I can vouch for that...
Others worry about iPod connectivity -- I guess that is a 30's something thing.. I'm 60 and don't have an iPod--- we'll see.
So, enjoy your new car!! it just gets better after 2000mi break in period, and with the pleasure of learning how to drive it. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

You can get a clean installation for XM if you buy the XM module from the Cayenne if you have PCM and if you can get your dealer to install it. Do a search and you will find something about that.
For aftermarket, I've added the XM Commander. It works fine and fits in the cubbyholder. It is hardwired into the antenna, not over the air FM. For BT, I added the Moto IHF1000. Not integrated. In the pic below it looks big but is very tiny and you can't see it from the driver's seat.
D&D; Thanks for your feed back. One thing I would pass along is the fact that an XM mini antenna in any car is so small ( portable or permanent)you can place it nicely at the base of the windshield and it isn't distracting. You can experiment around with it under the back glass, it will work as long as it has a clear view on the sky. In major cities like LA there are so many repeaters I never have drop outs with my portable. We are also from the same decade nice to talk to someone with similar background. RON
Here is the bluetooth solution I went with: Parrot 3200:

There is a new one that I see Suncoast selling called
Tooki
. It is made by NavTV and looks awesome, but the $750 price tag is a bit excessive to me.
Great photo and info THANKS!!
