I'm going to be changing disc pads etc and thought I'd better to fluid change as it's not been done in the time I've had the car.
Leading evidence: 'Replace disc pads etc and thought i'd better' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). if you bleed the brakes only at the calipers you will have changed over 90 % of the fluid in the system ..

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've got all bleed nipples moving so all good. My query is with the clutch, do I need to bleed the clutch or I can just leave this alone and do the calipers.
Official answer .. you bleed the clutch at the slave cylinder .. its a pain to do .
Un official answer and we need to break it down a bit .. long post coming up i feel ..
Moisture in the braking system .. water .. it boils at 100 degrees C .. calipers can often exceed this temp when used in a sporting manner.
Water boiling creates gas .. gas is compressible unlike brake fluid .. you put your foot on the brakes with air in the system and you will have a long pedal travel or it will goto the floor ..
Happened to me once many .. many years ago and i was too young and stupid to release the brake pedal and re apply it .. end result was i ended up on the main roundabout on the M1 shaking like a leaf still with my foot on the brake pedal ( on the floor ) .
brake fluid will absorb moisture over time .. porsche say change it every 2 years .. you can go longer but you need to remember these are sports cars not citroens .. a family saloon can go many years with no need for a replacement as the system never gets that hot .
Anyways .. if you bleed the brakes only at the calipers you will have changed over 90 % of the fluid in the system ..
If you don't bleed the clutch then it's a small amount left .. as the entire system is mixed then any moisture left will dissipate into the rest of the fluid .
You also need to remember that the clutch system doesn't get as hot as the braking system so the chances of boiling are negligible .
It also doesn't matter as the failure due to boiling on the clutch side means you have no clutch for one pedal depress .
One last thing to think of .. bleeding and starting at the n/s/r wheel .. if you don't take out 0.5 ltr then the old fluid is still in the pipes .. unless you drain out the reservoir first .
I proved that when changing racing blue fluid to standard .. i measured the amount that came out and it was 0.5 ..
Interestingly .. when i drained from the inner nipple .. NO blue fluid came out .. that would indicate bleeding at both nipples is Not warranted .
I'll just add .. i can feel the difference when i do a 2 year brake fluid change .. its not huge but i can tell the difference .
