Suggestion

Put the top in service mode (check your manual on how to do this) and once it's up check the plug connection ..it's behind on the passenger side, more than likely the previous person that serviced this does not realize that..

When I use the fader to send the sound to the rear, it seems to mute it and almost sounds like it is coming from the front.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone. I just purchased a 2003 Boxster S and love the car! (It is my first Porsche.) It has a CDR23 with the Bose system. However, no sound is coming out of the rear speakers. I have tried and tried going through the maze of options and sub-options in the stereo, but still no luck. I suspect there is some setting I am missing. When I use the fader to send the sound to the rear, it seems to mute it and almost sounds like it is coming from the front. No matter what I do, I can't get sound from the back. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Rescue !!! Before anything else. Put the top in service mode (check your manual on how to do this) and once it's up check the plug connection ..it's behind on the passenger side, more than likely the previous person that serviced this does not realize that.. good luck and let me know! t2-bxtrs 04S :ah:

POST 3Original post

t2 may be right. Someone may have forgotten to reconnect the speakers. Check out this thread on another board for a similar problem: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/boxster-cayman-forum/586316-no-sound-rear-speakers-any-suggestions.html This turned out to be a problem with the amp.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the quick responses and ideas! I looked in the manual for info on how to put the top in "Service Mode" but didn't see it anywhere...do you happen to know what section it is in?

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
